When I first met Robyn in 2010, I really didn't know about the Smart Business Program. By asking key and relevant questions, I was able to receive key contacts that I followed up with. The questions asked also helped me reflect and assert on Maritime Centre for African Dance's business strategy.
One of the programs that was referred to me was NSBI's Export Program and Government Tenders Program. Through these programs, I was able to connect with business advisors at Immigrant Settlement & Integration Services. In the year since my meeting, Maritime Centre for African Dance (MCAD) has seen considerable growth, not just in the HRM, but in other cities, found a niche way of retaining part time staff, and have considerable information on Export and Trade.
In the following meeting, a year and a half after meeting Robyn, although there was continued growth within the organization, there was still relevant and key advice that I received from the program. Once again, the questions not only assessed the current business strategy but also last year's performance. I am constantly learning new material and contacts each time I meet with Robyn, and know that with the support, MCAD will constantly achieve higher results.
