How the Connector Program Works

Match

connectThe Connector Program matches newcomers to Halifax and young and emerging talent with local employers, civil servants and community leaders based on industry experience, professional backgrounds, or the participant's interest in a specific organization.

Once the connection has been made, an introduction email is sent to the Connector and the Participant to set up a meeting.

Connect

communicateThe Connector and the Participant meet to discuss things like industry backgrounds, skills and areas of expertise, industry related news, current market demands, and hiddden job opportunities in Halifax.

Refer

contactConnectors are asked to refer the Participant to a minimum of three people in their network, and then each of these people are asked to refer the Participant to three more.  These referrals may be potential employers, influential leaders within their industry or other people who will benefit from meeting with a skilled professional.

As Participants meet with business and community leaders in Halifax, they gain a better understanding of the local job market, learn about the community, and are exposed to business and career opportunities.

This simple, yet highly effective process, significantly increases the individual’s chances of finding employment in his or her field.
