Through the Preston satellite office, the Partnership, Black Business Initiative (BBI), Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) and the Nova Scotia Department of Education partner to support community economic development initiatives and meet individual needs.
Recap 2010/11
- Supported the East Preston Ratepayers Association strategic planning
- Helped the Charles Taylor Theatre Group develop a proposal for a multi-use theatre facility
- Supported the development of One Word Production’s film Still Here: A Journey to Triumph, documenting the educational journey of a group of African-Canadian youth from across Nova Scotia learning about the history of their ancestors.
- Actively participated in several community groups including the Preston Arts Centre, Preston Area Trails Association, Black Educators Association
