INSURECONOMY
The insurance sector is diverse, with national and international elements that include life, health, property and casualty insurance (auto, home and business). This INSURECONOMY report, developed in partnership with NSBI, presents the results of a broad-based review of the insurance industry in Nova Scotia, undertaken to assess the state of the industry and its growth potential. The research confirms that Halifax plays a unique role as a hub city for the insurance industry, not only in Nova Scotia but for the Maritimes.

Halifax Gateway: 2010—2015: Strategic Plan: Building the Halifax Gateway
The Halifax Gateway Council (HGC) released its new five-year strategic plan in February, 2010. HGC's 2010—2015: Strategic Plan: Building the Halifax Gateway focuses on realizing the vision of Halifax becoming the preferred eastern gateway for North America and the world, driving economic growth in Atlantic Canada and Canada as a whole.
Developed in consultation with Gateway stakeholders and members, the plan reinforces the shared belief in the Gateway and what it means to the Canadian economy and international trade and commerce.
