Halifax is the eastern-most point of service for Canadian National Railway’s (CN) domestic and international distribution network. CN’s new intermodal terminal and increased cost savings from double stacking offer greatly increased competitive advantages to companies servicing domestic and international customers outside Eastern Canada. In fact, shipments from Halifax to the U.S. mid-west (Chicago) are made faster than through any other east coast port, including New York.
CN’s system provides seamless, coast-to-coast connectivity and integrated service to major markets in the United States, Mexico and South America. It also offers direct mainline service to most of Halifax’s business and industrial parks. In addition to mainline access, many of the parks offer access to large “pay-as-you-use” Canadian National Teamtrack Facilities.
