Coordinator, Economic Strategy
Phyllis’s role as Coordinator of the Economic Strategy is key to supporting the effective and efficient implementation of the 2011-16 HRM Economic Strategy. Phyllis is happiest at the centre of activity, with each of the five Implementation Action Teams. Each Action Team, led and populated by private-sector volunteers and some public-sector representatives, are each responsible for overseeing one of the goals as defined in the Strategy.
Phyllis’ organizational ability, writing and communication skills and long history in economic development serve her well in this role. Her role also includes guiding the activities of the Action Teams and coordinating regular updates to multiple stakeholders.
Prior to the Partnership, Phyllis spent 18 years as Director, Operations & Projects with novaknowledge. Phyllis graduated from Acadia University and has experienced private, public and not-for-profit sectors, as well as a brief stint as an entrepreneur.
Phyllis grew up in rural Nova Scotia, is a proud grandmother of two little boys and lives in Lower Sackville, NS, where she and her husband recently purchased a home.
