Coordinator, Immigration Employer Support Program
Margie's role as Coordinator of the Immigration Employer Support Program is to raise awareness among employers of the skills and experiences immigrants possess, and how they can contribute to businesses in Greater Halifax. Margie helps employers efficiently access these individuals and assists both parties through the hiring process. As a recent immigrant to Canada, Margie understands the valuable skills and perspectives immigrants bring to Nova Scotia.
Margie received her Business degree from a university in Colombia and gained eight years of experience in the private sector working for a multinational publishing company. She managed projects, budged, preformed audits and restructured administrative procedures. Additionally, Margie directed the successful building of a new department. Margie is also a proud graduate of the MBA program at Saint Mary’s University.
Margie enjoys traveling and has experienced living in different countries and cultures. Her experiences have given her a greater appreciation of diversity in beliefs and thought.
