Currently residing in Halifax, Allan Cocksedge has for 10 years provided government relations support in the form of strategic advice and insight into government operations to clients involved in international trade, transportation, tourism, border administration, procurement, and information technology.
Allan was a federal public servant for 30 years the last 15 of which were spent in various Assistant Deputy Minister positions. Allan’s most recent position was Assistant Deputy Minister for Canada Customs at Revenue Canada where he oversaw the management of Canada’s border and the administration of trade policies.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Assistant Deputy Minister in charge of Tourism Canada. Earlier in his career with the federal public service, Allan served as the Secretary General of the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Director General for the B.C. and Yukon region of the federal Department of Employment and Immigration.
Throughout his career, Allan has been involved in managing change within the federal government. He has acquired an excellent knowledge and understanding of the people and processes that are essential to the government of Canada. He is also an expert in the systems and rules that direct departments in the delivery of programs and services to Canadians.
