Susan Letson

Susan was a leader in Executive Recruitment and Selection in the Atlantic region from 1989-2007, having held senior positions with two national firms, KPMG and The Caldwell Partners International. Her practice focused on the recruitment of senior leaders in all sectors of the economy, including government, crown agencies, universities, health care and both medium and large private sector companies. She also recruited Board members for both national and provincial government agencies. Currently, Susan is associated with a local boutique consulting firm, RJG Consultants.

Prior to her consulting career, Susan worked with the City of Halifax in social services, the federal government in project management and the Province of Nova Scotia in Human Resource Management.

Susan understands the stewardship responsibility of Boards. She has been Chair of the Halifax YWCA and Symphony Nova Scotia, and Vice Chair of the United Way of Halifax Region. She is currently Past Chair of Debut Atlantic and an executive board member of the Resource Recovery Fund Board ( RRFB), a provincial crown agency. She has recently been elected to the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award Foundation, the Greater Halifax Partnership as a Community Member, and has joined a group of community leaders to bring a nationally recognized program to the Spryfield area to help reduce the drop out rate in high school students. Susan is also an ESL tutor in Bedford.

Susan is a graduate of Queen’s University in English Literature, has a certificate in Human Resource Management from Saint Mary’s, is a Certified Management Consultant and has taken courses through the Institute of Corporate Directors to ensure that she is up to date on current trends and issues in corporate governance.
