Clayton Developments
Dick Miller is President, Clayton Developments a division of The Shaw Group which has been honoured as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed private companies for the past six years. A native of Halifax, he has more that 35 years’ experience in the commercial and residential real estate development industry and is past president of the Canadian Home Builders Association and past chairman of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission. Dick received his secondary and post secondary education in Halifax. Further management studies included programs at the American Management Association in New York and McGill University. He is active in several industry and community associations and serves on the Executive of the Canadian Commission on Building & Fire Codes. He is also an Executive Member of the National Research Council Institute of Research in Construction.
Dick has been honoured regionally and nationally for his development and housing work, particularly in the areas of energy efficiency, consumer protection, and community planning. His work in creating opportunities for youth in Nova Scotia and his work with immigrants establishing businesses in Nova Scotia yield major economic spin-offs for HRM and beyond.
