Educated at RMC and Dalhousie University and having been awarded the designation Certified Management Consultant, Mr. Robertson is a Professional Engineer with qualifications in other fields, including Management Consulting.
Mr. Robertson’s career includes a variety of business management positions and consulting in addition to having started, owned and operated many businesses of his own in the fields of plumbing and heating, real estate development, manufacturing of hardware for electric utilities and energy management consulting. His energy management consulting has been international in scope and includes work on 5 continents since 1981. His utility pole line hardware business has grown consistently and rapidly since 1998, with sales throughout North America and a presence in South America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Awards
- Federal government award for energy management and cost saving measures.
- Developed and delivered dozens of different technical and management level training programs in energy management, delivered in North America, Asia and Africa. Approximately 200 engagements since 1985, with over 2000 attendees.
- Designed, developed and patented (or design patents) several new products used in the electric distribution industry. Innovative approaches.
- Recipient of the Lt. Governor’s Award for Excellence in Engineering, 2006
- Recipient, Nova Scotia Discovery Centre Innovation Award for Science and Technology, 2006
- District Governor, Atlantic J24 Class Association (competitive sailing)
- Regular competitor in athletic events. Involved in running and many related sports for over 35 years. Active in many sports and competitive in skiing, running, triathlons and sailing.
Dale is married to Mary Robertson (Meagher) of Halifax, and has a daughter Jillian (1987) and son Douglas (1988).
