Bell Aliant is one of North America’s largest regional communications providers. In this role he is responsible for ensuring an unsurpassed customer experience for consumer and business customers located across six eastern provinces, from Ontario to Newfoundland & Labrador. Prior to this position, Mr. Hartlen was Chief Operating Officer of Aliant Mobility where he directed the marketing, sales, service and development of wireless solutions for the Atlantic Canadian marketplace.
Mr. Hartlen has a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical) from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, a Bachelor of Science degree (Math) from Dalhousie University and has participated in the Executive Program at Queen’s University. He is a member of Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia and IEEE. He has more than 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry, having served in a number of areas, ranging from customer service, wireless, sales and engineering.
Mr. Hartlen is very involved in the community as a board member of the United Way of Halifax, a member of the Community Leadership Advisory Committee for the Navy, a member of the Economic Strategy Committee for the Greater Halifax Partnership, past chairman and current member of the Board of Governors for the Nova Scotia Community College, and past chair of the Recruitment Committee for the Halifax Dragon Boat Festival.
Mr. Hartlen lives in Halifax, N.S. with his wife Tamara and their two children.
