Career Circuit
The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE), in partnership with the Canadian Youth Foundation (CYF), the Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF), and Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) has been working on a youth initiative over the last several years. The focus of this initiative is to create a coast-to-coast network of youth service sites and to support them in their efforts to provide effective youth service in areas such as: career information and planning; training opportunities; internship activities; mentoring opportunities; employment readiness; self-employment readiness; future studies; and personal financial affairs.
Although Youth Service Agencies (YSAs) of all kinds and sizes are working to provide youth with support and assistance related to career development, research shows that many young people are unaware of the help that is available. At the same time, many of the Youth Service Agencies operate somewhat disconnected from the many others that are working toward similar or common goals. That is why Career Circuit is aiming to connect the Youth Service Agencies, support them, and to promote their efforts, as possible, with youth across Canada.
