He is a Fellow of the Canadian Information Processing Society, a Certified Management Consultant and has a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.

“Paul comes to us with an exceptional background and has a long-standing reputation as a champion for our community and business well-being. He added, “These qualities - together with his ability to deliver results - will prove a tremendous asset, both for the organization and for the economic growth of Greater Halifax.”

Mr. Kent will take up his duties on October 19th, 2009. “This is an exciting time for a new leader to join the Partnership,” said Huskilson. “We all owe a debt of gratitude to outgoing President and CEO Stephen Dempsey, as it is in no small part due to his efforts that the organization is well prepared to support the next phase in the growth of our economy,” continued Huskilson. Stephen will be staying on to ensure a smooth transition with our new President and CEO.

About the Greater Halifax Partnership

The Greater Halifax Partnership is the catalyst for economic growth and confidence in Greater Halifax, the economic hub of Atlantic Canada. We have deep insight into the city’s emerging trends and changing needs because of committed involvement and unequalled private sector investment, and government support. Staying one step ahead of opportunities and issues, we mobilize resources to accelerate the economic growth of Greater Halifax.

Created in 1996, the Partnership is a unique private-public model of investment now copied throughout North America. More than 150 of Greater Halifax’s most influential businesses and all three levels of government invest in the Partnership. With their support, we leverage every municipal economic tax dollar three times to build business confidence, secure business stability and growth, research and report economic trends, and remove roadblocks on behalf of business.
