This year we have concentrated our efforts into e-marketing and social media. Better use of social media enables the Partnership to reach a targeted audience where all roads lead back to our newly enhanced website. We are pleased to share this #1 ranking with London, ON.

Fred Morley Receives BREI Distinguished Service Award

June 2008 - Fred Morley, the Partnership's Executive Vice President and Chief Economist was recently awarded the Distinguished Service Award from Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI). The award recognizes an individual's distinguished service to the practice of Business Retention & Expansion. It is given to a BREI member or non-member in recognition of his or her outstanding contribution at the national or international level in the area of BR&E. This award is not necessarily awarded annually, but one award is considered each year.
Business Retention Expansion International is a worldwide association of economic development professionals focused on promoting Business Retention & Expansion.
Past award winners have included:
- Peter Kenyon - Kalamunda, Western Australia
- Anne Pope - Washington, DC
- Delories Williams - Memphis, TN
Fred is the first Distinguished Service Award recipient from Canada.
Greater Halifax Partnership Named one of Site Selection Magazine's Top Canadian Economic Development Groups
September 2007 - The Greater Halifax Partnership was recognized as one of the top 10 Canadian Economic Development Groups by Site Selection Magazine for its work in developing a financial services sector strategy for Greater Halifax, SmartBusiness, the Partnership's Business Retention and Expansion initiative, and for fostering joint economic development opportunities in the rural areas of the Greater Halifax.
