The Economic Strategy Committee was established by the Greater Halifax Partnership Board as a critical element in helping to align and integrate initiatives and efforts related to the Economic Strategy.
The Committee has two roles. One is to set priorities under the Economic Strategy. With 94 actions, 5 goal areas, 11 priorities and the Halifax Chamber of Commerce measuring success with 30 outcome measures, the Committee‘s job is to determine priorities and focus areas.
As part of this role, the Committee is taking a close look at the actions at the heart of the strategy and seeing what is working well, where there’s progress, and where there are bottlenecks. When the latter occurs, it’s the Committee’s responsibility to identify barriers – and solutions. Through consultations and partnering with various organizations delivering the Strategy and by fostering greater linkages between them and the Partnership, these issues and bottlenecks will be proactively addressed.
The Economic Strategy Committee’s second role is to align processes, projects and people. Working together is critical to our success today, and our future tomorrow. With over 50 organizations involved in delivering activities under the strategy, the committee will ensure alignment of effort.
As a united force we are moving closer to a vision of: one economy, one strategy, one community.
