Sarah Young is principal of MT&L Public Relations Ltd., a premier public relations firm with clients throughout Atlantic Canada. She co-owns the firm with partners Janet MacMillan and Kim West, and with NATIONAL Public Relations as a minority shareholder.

Sarah works with private, public and non-profit organizations to cultivate relationships, overcome issues and manage reputations. She has expertise in media, community and stakeholder relations, marketing communication, crisis communication and issues management, and social marketing.

Sarah’s experience has spanned technology, consumer, resource, and business markets for small and large companies and organizations.  She is certified by the U.S.-based Institute for Crisis Management.

In her client and volunteer capacity, Sarah has worked with all levels of government, including municipal, provincial and federal stakeholders. Sarah likes to work on projects that require community building and stakeholder support.

Prior to joining MT&L, Sarah was vice president, Advanced Technology Group, with the Toronto office of Fleishman-Hillard, an international communications company. Previously, she was marketing manager for T4G Limited, a technology services firm in Toronto.

Committed to her community, Sarah was on the organizing committee of the inaugural Blue Nose International Marathon that has received regional and national recognition including the Canadian Medical Association Award of Excellence for Health Promotion and Progress Marketer of the Year.

Sarah has served as a board member of NovaKnowledge, and chaired the NovaKnowledge Luncheon Series for the past three years. She currently sits on the YMCA Board of Directors for Greater Halifax/Dartmouth. Sarah is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University and a Master of Arts degree in media studies from Concordia University in Montreal.  A native of Pictou, Nova Scotia, Sarah and her husband have a son.
