The role of the Halifax Region Immigration Leadership Council is to take on the challenge of putting the Halifax Region Immigration Strategy to work and implement specific action items. This will serve to enhance the existing immigration-related infrastructure to attract, integrate and retain immigrants in the Greater Halifax region.
As we are aware, demographic and labour force issues will soon be critical for our community, therefore, initiating a coordinated and focused approach to immigration now will provide time to establish an adequate infrastructure to meet the objectives outlined in the Halifax Region Immigration Strategy.
The Leadership Council consists of representatives from a number of organizations active in promoting and supporting immigration in Greater Halifax. The Council is co-chaired by the Greater Halifax Partnership and the Immigrant Settlement & Integration Services (formerly MISA and HILC).
The Leadership Council reports to the Greater Halifax Partnership's Board of Directors.
